The Swara Plains Wildlife Conservancy is our backyard boasting 100 km of trails that lead to over 3,000 game animals, 300 bird species and 8 dams. We organize day-and-night safari drives for those itching to explore the savanna and meet Kenya’s majestic animals including cheetah, antelopes, giraffes, ostriches, hyenas and more. Other activity options include archery, yoga, safari bike rentals and safari hikes. Our restaurant is a la carte and Hop Inn bar is offering refreshing drinks, healthy smoothies and cocktails. Family Friendly

Children of all ages are very much welcome and encouraged to visit, so all of you travel loving parents – join the club! We value our youngest guests and strive to create a family-friendly atmosphere. Your little ones will have fun time with our kiddie entertainer at our Kids’ Safari Club. They will spend the whole day chasing monkeys, butterflies, learning about frogs, ants, birds, hyrax and other small animals that are seen in our extensive gardens. Alternatively, they can be creative, paint or play ball, ride bikes or dance, while you relax with a good book or a glass of wine. Go on memorable family adventures, bond with your kids on a safari drive and go biking or hiking together through the savanna. Get away to get closer!

Safari & Activities

Go for safari game drives in our vehicles or your own. The ranch is home to over 3,000 animals including gazelle, wildebeest, hartebeest and impala. Meet the ostrich, jackal, warthog, hyena and honey badger. Watch the impressive Masai and reticulated giraffe amble by against the horizon and go birdwatching for over 300 avian species. The savanna can also be explored by biking or hiking. Swara Acacia Lodge offers other activities like pool, archery, football, badminton, table tennis, volleyball and billiard. Young children can play in our sandbox and on our climbing frame, as well as do clay molding and painting.

Restaurant & Bar

Our Acacia restaurant serves à la carte meals, lovingly prepared by our executive chef. We handpick only the freshest ingredients from our local sources and our guests can prebook their meals choosing between several cuisines: BBQ, Kenyan, Italian and Indian. We can customise our menu to different dietary restrictions upon request, and to keep families at ease during meal times, we serve our youngest guests early enough to keep them happy and energized for playing at our Kids’ Safari Club. If you would like to try something new, choose our Dining in the bush, all time favourite experience for couples or groups of friends. Tilly’s bar and Hop Inn bar are open for drinks and cocktails in a stunning environment with views of wildlife.

We host conferences and team building for companies or organizations, tailored to your group size and budget. Our proximity to Nairobi and the savanna’s natural setting make Swara Acacia Lodge a convenient, attractive and quiet location for company outings. The entire facility can be reserved for your exclusive and private use. We have a conference room that is fully equipped for presentations and meetings. Fun and dynamic team building exercises can be organized such as obstacle courses, safari tours and games.

Weddings

Swara Acacia Lodge makes for an enchanting and unforgettable wedding venue. Our custom wedding packages come with menu options for your celebratory feast, as well as a bridal preparation cottage and overnight accommodations. Large party can be held in our garden, while smaller intimate gatherings can be set up out in the bush. Couples may choose to stay in our honeymoon suite, with breakfast in bed or picnics in the wilderness. We work closely with your wedding coordinator and stylist to create the bespoke experience of your dreams. The magical memories will keep you and your guests talking for years to come.

Conservancy History

The ranch was originally acquired in the 1960s by a conservation pioneer Mr. David Hopcraft. In 1982, a group of students came to study the wildlife and needed a place to stay. Hence, the lodge and tented campsite were built. The program saw success and attracted a lot of interest, spurring further development and growth. The lodge was then opened to the public in the early 2000s. For the first time, since there are no dangerous animals in the area, nature walks and biking through the wilderness became as popular as safari game drives.

Swara Acacia Lodge is a family run business, owned by Acceleron Investments Inc. Our team is made up of dedicated professionals focused on authentic types of vacationing that are unique, immersive and responsible. We are veteran specialists in the fields of hospitality, hotel management, community development and remote site operation. With entrepreneurial spirits and more than 20 years of African experience, we have actualized numerous projects across the African continent and beyond.
